aquamarine

chrysoprase
Definition von:

Chrysoprase  or chrysophrase comes from the Greek crysos = gold and prason = leek. The ancient Greek revered the chrysoprase and the price was related in gold. They thought the chrysoprase prevents from depressions and bad mood.
It can turn pale if it is exposed to direct sun and heat. The best advantage is to keep the stone moist - that can also reverse the paling process.

George Eliot (1819 - 1880) is the pen name of the English novelist Mary Ann Evans.

In her youth she was a hard follower of the "Evangelists“. After some love affairs, Mary Ann Evans lived together with a married man as his common law wife - a social scandal. In 1859 she published under the pen name "George Eliot“ her first novel. Her writings were a big success and influenced the English literature. In her later works she often wrote about philosophical and social political problems. She died as the respectable wife "Mary Ann Cross“.

Haseltine
Definition von:

Herbert Haseltine (1877-1962) was an Italian-born French/American animal sculptor.
He was born in Rom, the son of the wealthy American landscape painter William Stanley Haseltine (1835-1900). He studied at Harvard University, at the Academy in Munich, Germany and then in Paris, France. Herbert Haseltine decided on to be a sculptor. He stayed in France until 1940, moved to the United States where he remained until 1947 at which time he returned to France.

Herbert Haseltine sculpted a variety of animals, but is best known for his equestrian sculptures, most notably the life-size statue of the thoroughbred race horse Man o' War at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Herbert Haseltine was well connected in American upper-class society and worked amongst others for Barbara Hutton.

During the time in Paris he led o colorful life. Haseltine entertained a lot of famous guests in his beautiful house: Arthur Rubinstein, Cary Grant, Teddy Roosevelt jr. and Charles Lindbergh.
Herbert Haseltine died in Paris 1962. His daughter Helen Heather Haseltine married an Austrian Count by the name of Paul Toggenburg, her descendents live in Italy and Austria. One of Herbert Haseltine's great-grandchildren is Roxane König.

The word "jewelry“ (jewellery) comes from the ancient Germanic and described a beautiful felt item. Jewelry in terms of precious treasuries is titled jewels or valuables. History of jewelry:
As far as 100.000 years ago Jewelry would be used. Humans adorned themselves with scallops. Necklaces were known since the Stone Age, the people made simple and also multiple-unit necklaces. Materials like: scallops, snail-shells, fish vertebrae or animal teeth would be used. As pendants they were using bones, stones but also amber. After the discovery of bronze and copper many other alternative processes are developed and the materials were designed into discs, rings or spirals. In Christianity jewelry was employed as a burial object. After the Bronze Age consistently new materials (metal, glass) found their way into the jewellery production. So new forms of jewellery were created and the spectrum increased. Often jewelry was and is through the use of precious materials an article of great value.

Usually people wear jewelry directly on the skin. It is mostly used to heighten the attractiveness of the person. Frequently it is worn to show a high-classed status. By definition. jewelry are rings, earrings, necklaces, foot- and armjewelry as well as brooches. Mainly only precious and fine materials, like: gold, platin, silver and many different gemstones (aquamarines, amethysts, diamonds, rubies, tourmalines, etc.) are used in the making process. From flashily pieces of jewellery to discreet, dainty and sophisticated works, the market of today has leaves no desire unfulfilled. In the making of jewelry the most famous and treasured fine metal is gold. It is processed in a multiplicity of alloys. At least one piece of gold belongs into every man's or woman's collection of jewelry.

lapis lazuli
